60 days of being me…
29th of September 2026
Day two -Becoming
4/10 vitality score upon waking.
I thought about what happens when I solely listen to the intuition I FEEL in my body and decided to start by asking my body and inner voice for a theme for today.
During my morning meditation, I perceived the word, fun, followed by a noticeable energetic surge. Utilising this energy, I hopped out of bed to make my tea and instead of sitting in self-condemnation for not doing yoga or going for a walk, I made a conscious choice to use my time for re-establishing my households morning routine (that had slipped over the last few days that had undone me again).
The focus, fun.
I don’t know about you, but I believe that when you have fun;
◆ Other people do too (my kids weren’t quite onboard while they unloaded the dishwasher, but I’m sure we will get there).
◆ Mundane tasks can become exciting (like using the robovac to clean the floor as part of this mornings routine).
◆ A healthy mindset is easier to embody (I felt great and they did too when they got started).
For me, fun can be found in almost anything, but my most recent interests have held a special sort of vibration. Today I chose gardening…not planting, weeding. I set a target, retrieved my gloves, located the glint of a spade peeking through clover out my window and headed through my front door into the wilderness. I was ready for anything. I was ready to have, fun.
Sunlight made the pigment in the rocks glitter. I dug, sensing an emerging feeling of gratitude for having soil rich in nutrients, so rich that weeds grow in abundance. As I carefully removed each bundle of green hearts from the ground, I whispered a quiet, “thank you.” T just occurred to me, and I need to know, am I the only one who thanks my weeds?
Honestly though, weeding is super fun and I urge you to try it if you haven’t already. I have noticed SO many benefits! The most noticeable is that my thinking is clearer, so much clearer that I make sure I can voice note or have a pen and paper close by to write down my spontaneous and often profound insights, questions and plans.
Fortunately, my experience today was no different and as each weed was freed from the earth below, I pondered the concept of metacognition (thinking about your own thinking) as I placed my own attention on my in-the-moment narrative.
What emerged:
◆ I think about a ridiculous number of things, but now I take ADHD medication I can concentrate on one. A terrific point of reflection and realisation that it is much less exhausting!
◆ If I didn’t have metacognition, I wonder if I would have arrived where I am now. I love my life and through this period of rest, I can’t wait to see how big I can make it and how brightly I shine.
You might be thinking, love your life?! Not being able to work. The money?! (Am I right?). Not me…I think of it as being given TIME. TIME to reflect, assess, analyse, review, be and TIME is the greatest gift I think anyone can be given (though, it is made up).
I have so many things to be grateful for, the weeds, the sun, the air, my health (overall)!
Tonights list, I am grateful for:
◆ My three beautiful children.
◆ A home I have always dreamed.
◆ The affordance of pursuing pretty much whatever I want to be after I have healed.
◆ My podcast, workshops and knowing I will meet my aspirations of writing a book and speaking on stages all over the world to help people change their thoughts.
How do I know? Firstly, I believe anyone can do anything they want to. Not through belief alone, but backwards engineering to design how to get there. I know, because I have done it and have made it exactly to where I set out to be, which is why I am set to expand despite my circumstances right now. It is what we are born to do.
In fact, that will be a story that I share tomorrow…so we will journey back to day two for now.
Following the theme of fun, I embraced my daughter’s enthusiasm to book tickets to see Paw Patrol (great movie, btw). My son was already going to see a film with friends, so we all jumped in the car and went our separate way once we arrived at the theatre and wore our demonic themed horns in the photo booth. I just savoured every moment of chatting and smiling and wanting to tell me everything, as my eldest is now 19, I knew this precious time would be fleeting.
Then, my daughter and I came home…I implemented the laying down protocol, spent some time with my sister, nieces and nephew, before winding down for the night with a vitality score of a solid 8/10. Seems like this is working.
Poignant reflections of what happens when I solely listen to the intuition I FEEL in my body?
I followed the theme of fun, that gave me a boost of energy in the morning.
Throughout the day, I noticed my body contracting in response to one thought before the movie, after the movie and before bed. A good use of metacognition. “I don’t have enough time (to do the gardening, writing etc).”
Something to contemplate throughout the week.
Tara’s tips;
Something for now…
◆ Think about any words, phrases or stories where you felt a nudge from your body or inner voice that you didn’t follow, what happened?
Be curious: Would I have chosen/spoken/behaved differently if I listened to what my body was telling me?
Something for the next few days…
◆ Over the next few days notice any words, phrases or stories that you use repeatedly and how they make your body feel.
Be curious: How are they making my body constrict or expand?
Something from yesterday…
◆ What strategies, tools, activities did you find or think about that might help you follow your inner voice?
Be curious: What barriers exist to experimentation/implementation/resumption?
With warmth and resonance,
Tara
